Factors associated with musculoskeletal disorders in cashiers at a Credit Union in Cuenca, Ecuador
Abstract
Musculoskeletal disorders among female workers in financial institutions pose a latent risk to their health, productivity, and quality of life. This study investigates the possible relationship between the occurrence of these disorders and job activities such as the use of display screens, repetitive movements, and awkward postures among cashiers at a credit union in Cuenca, Ecuador. A descriptive correlational study was conducted, collecting data through surveys applied to 30 cashiers at the institution. The results show that 60% of the participants exhibit symptoms associated with musculoskeletal disorders. Additionally, a positive correlation was found between repetitive movements and awkward postures, while the use of display screens showed a negative correlation.
