Examinando a implementação do ensino situacional de idiomas (SLT) na sala de aula de inglês como língua estrangeira (EFL): uma revisão semi-sistemática da literatura

Resumo

O Situational Language Teaching (SLT) é bem conhecido por suas aplicações práticas no ensino e aprendizado de um segundo idioma, pois enfatiza o uso de situações e contextos da vida real. O SLT tem influenciado significativamente as habilidades linguísticas dos alunos desde sua criação. A necessidade de analisar a implementação da SLT na sala de aula de EFL surge com a necessidade de examinar os métodos e técnicas pedagógicas usados pelos professores de SLT para promover as habilidades no idioma inglês, bem como a motivação dos alunos para aprender. Esta revisão semissistemática examinou quatro bancos de dados para oferecer uma visão geral dos fundamentos teóricos da SLT e dos estudos atuais com diferentes metodologias, participantes e a eficácia da SLT no desenvolvimento das habilidades linguísticas, da motivação e dos estilos de aprendizagem dos alunos de EFL. A revisão oferece uma visão geral atualizada da SLT e sua influência no desenvolvimento das habilidades linguísticas dos alunos de EFL.

 A bachelor degree in Applied Linguistics from the Universidad de las Fuerzas Armadas (ESPE) (Ecuador). She is currently a professor at the Vida Nueva Higher Education Institute (Ecuador). She is a master’s degree candidate in Universidad Católica de Cuenca.

Melita Vega, Universidad Católica de Cuenca | Cuenca | Ecuador

A master’s degree in applied Linguistics from the University of Cuenca (Ecuador), a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Azuay (Ecuador) and a postgraduate certificate in Public Relations from Toronto Metropolitan University (Canada), Her research interests and publications focus on social responsibility and sustainability, crisis communications, and Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL). She is currently a professor, researcher and tutor in the School of International Studies and the Language Unit at the University of Azuay (Ecuador), and the postgraduate program in Teaching English as a Foreign Language at Universidad de Cuenca. She is a doctoral candidate in Education at Universidad Nacional de Rosario (UNR). Prior to her work in academia, Melita held positions in marketing and corporate communications in Canada.
