Explorando os efeitos das atividades competitivas e colaborativas de falar na motivação e auto-eficácia dos alunos da EFL

Resumo

Concorrência e colaboração são estratégias amplamente usadas em inglês como aulas de língua estrangeira (EFL) para aumentar o aprendizado significativo e o envolvimento dos alunos. Nesse sentido, este estudo teve como objetivo examinar os efeitos das atividades competitivas e colaborativas de fala na motivação e auto-eficácia dos alunos de EFL. Para isso, foi feito um escopo descritivo por meio de uma revisão sistemática, com pesquisas de 2020 a 2025. Inicialmente, 120 artigos foram encontrados através da pesquisa de banco de dados. Após aplicar os critérios de inclusão e exclusão, 20 artigos permaneceram para estudo. As principais descobertas foram de que a pesquisa indica diferenças notáveis ​​nas respostas de motivação e auto-eficácia entre os alunos envolvidos em atividades colaborativas versus competitivas na sala de aula da EFL, principalmente em relação às tarefas de palestras. Os resultados mostram que, em ambientes competitivos, os alunos podem experimentar motivação aumentada impulsionada pelo desejo de superar os colegas; No entanto, isso às vezes pode levar à ansiedade e medo do fracasso, o que pode afetar negativamente a autoeficácia para alguns alunos. Pelo contrário, os alunos que participam de atividades colaborativas geralmente relatam níveis mais altos de motivação e autoeficácia intrínsecas. Em conclusão, a literatura mostrou uma preferência pelo aprendizado colaborativo, dando que isso dá menos ansiedade aos estudantes do que estratégias competitivas, aumentando seus benefícios.

Juanita Catalina Argudo-Serrano, Catholic University of Cuenca | Cuenca | Ecuador

Holds a bachelor’s degree in TEFL, a Master´s degree in English Language and Applied Lingüistics, and a Ph.D. in Education. She is an Associate Professor at the Universidad of Cuenca and a teacher at the Master’s program at Universidad Católica de Cuenca. She is also a researcher at Universidad de Cuenca and collaborates on projects at different universities in Cuenca.
