Resumen
El tumor venéreo transmisible canino (TVTC), constituye una de las neoplasias más frecuentes en perros, especialmente en poblaciones callejeras, y aunque el sulfato de vincristina (VS), continúa siendo el tratamiento de elección, la aparición de resistencia terapéutica, y efectos adversos ha impulsado la búsqueda de alternativas complementarias. El objetivo de esta revisión fue, analizar la evidencia disponible sobre terapias alternativas, y coadyuvantes al VS, para el manejo clínico del TVTC, considerando su eficacia, seguridad, y potencial aplicación. Se realizó una revisión bibliográfica descriptiva, con análisis sistemático, siguiendo las directrices del modelo PRISMA 2020; la búsqueda se efectuó en Scopus, PubMed, SciELO, ProQuest, Google Académico, ResearchGate y Redalyc, mediante criterios de inclusión, y exclusión previamente establecidos para seleccionar estudios publicados durante los últimos diez años. Los resultados mostraron que el VS, mantiene tasas de regresión superiores al 90%, especialmente cuando se combina con cirugía; entre las terapias complementarias, el interferón alfa-2a, la autohemoterapia, los extractos de Viscum album y Thuya occidentalis, la L-asparaginasa, la ivermectina, la lomustina, y la vinblastina, presentaron distintos grados de eficacia, aunque ninguna superó consistentemente los resultados obtenidos con el tratamiento convencional. Se concluyó que, el VS sigue siendo la alternativa terapéutica más eficaz para el TVTC.
