Resumen

El sedentarismo y la falta de interés por la actividad física constituyen una preocupación que impactan la salud, el rendimiento académico y el involucramiento estudiantil en actividades educativas. El objetivo de estudio fue realizar una revisión exhaustiva acerca del sedentarismo en estudiantes de secundaria, empleando literatura científica publicada en los últimos cinco años (2021-2025). La metodología se basó en el enfoque PRISMA mediante una revisión sistemática, fundamentada en la búsqueda y selección de investigaciones en las bases de datos Scopus, PubMed y SciELO con términos “sedentarismo en estudiantes de secundaria”. Los resultados muestran un interés moderado por la actividad física, asociado con la percepción de competencia y el contexto social del estudiantado. La percepción del sedentarismo es elevada, asociado al uso habitual de dispositivos tecnológicos. Asimismo, los hombres muestran una motivación un poco mayor que las mujeres hacia la actividad física, aunque ambos géneros tienen niveles similares de inactividad física. En conclusión, la coexistencia de una baja participación de actividad física, junto con una alta percepción de sedentarismo entre los estudiantes, evidencia la necesidad de profundizar en los factores que influyen en la desmotivación por realizar actividad física y la tendencia del sedentarismo.
