Abstract
In addition to the price of the product, factors that determine the quantity of an item to be offered at a given time include resource prices, prices of other goods, technology and the producer's expectations. African palm is harvested to produce the most widely used vegetable oil in the world as a raw material for by-products such as fat for bakery foods, oils for human consumption, soaps, cosmetics and biofuels. The objective of this study was to evaluate the factors affecting oil palm supply in Ecuador. Data were obtained from the Agricultural Public Information System, Central Bank of Ecuador, and the National Institute of Statistics and Census, for the period 2010-2023. The tool used to record the information was Microsoft Excel and for the modeling of factors the SPSS software was used. Statistically there is a significant relationship between area harvested and quantity exported as well as a very strong positive association between domestic and international prices. The regression model is adequate in that harvested area is highly significant, while public credit and quantity of palm exported have a low level of significance.
