Abstract

This study explores the effects of technology on speaking and writing skills in English as a foreign language (EFL). Rapid technological advances, particularly during the recent shift to online learning, have transformed the dynamics of language teaching and learning. The study aims to identify the advantages, challenges, and overall impact of technology integration on the performance and experiences of EFL learners. A mixed-methods approach was employed, utilizing surveys to gather both quantitative data and qualitative insights into learner perceptions. Furthermore, the research incorporates findings from existing literature on related topics. Survey results indicated that technology significantly influences university students' learning, particularly through various applications. However, students generally perceive these digital tools as a complement to, rather than a replacement for, face-to-face classes and direct interaction with their professor.
