Pesquisa-Ação Participativa (PAR) é uma abordagem que combina ações concretas com a participação da comunidade para gerar conhecimento adaptado às suas necessidades. O objetivo deste artigo é analisar os resultados da implementação do IAP em um processo de reflorestamento no Cerro de la Estrella, na Cidade do México. Em 2022, o IAP foi aplicado à reabilitação ambiental de um terreno, utilizando ferramentas como observação participante, entrevistas semiestruturadas e ação colaborativa. Conhecimento e experiência foram desenvolvidos para o projeto de reflorestamento, no qual foram plantadas 160 árvores Vachellia farnesiana (huizache). Após um ano, a taxa de sobrevivência das árvores foi de 78,1%, superando as taxas de reflorestamento anteriores. A comunidade demonstrou um alto nível de engajamento, com uma taxa de participação de 100%. O IAP não apenas gerou conhecimento útil para o projeto, mas também promoveu a coesão social e a conscientização sobre a importância da preservação do meio ambiente natural. Este estudo demonstra que o PAR, ao integrar a comunidade na tomada de decisões e na implementação de projetos, pode gerar soluções mais eficazes e sustentáveis.
