Abstract

The optimization of spaces for vehicular roads in small towns such as the Sancán site, seeks to improve the mobility and quality of life of its users, this process implied a readjustment of spaces to balance the use between vehicles and pedestrians, promoting road safety and reduction of travel time, in addition to seeking to guarantee functional optimization, integrating elements such as sidewalks and comfortable roads. Changes were implemented with street planning using the methodology of the Highway Capacity Manual, including pedestrian crossings, demarcation of vehicular lanes, parking spaces, stimulating foot and bicycle traffic; He also considered the proximity between homes and services. Urban road planning considers diversities of uses of space to avoid saturation at peak hours. Vehicular roads contribute to creating sustainable and accessible urban environments, this approach improves mobility and contributes to a healthy and attractive urban environment for users.
