Abstract
The right to anonymity is the ability of individuals to act or express their opinions without revealing their identity. This right is most evident in the digital environment, as individuals engage in various online activities. This basic right to participate and express their opinions also has a dividing line that must be respected, and individuals must be responsible for what they write or express. The objective was to determine the boundary between privacy and evasion of responsibility related to online anonymity and legal challenges. The methodological approach was qualitative; the bibliographic method allowed for the review of information in national and international virtual repositories, including research associated with the variables under study. The information was processed through an analytical method, performing an analysis of the collected information. The results allowed for a deeper understanding of anonymity, focused on a holistic context, encompassing privacy and the need for legal accountability for opinions expressed. It was concluded that anonymity is also used to express ideas against individuals or organizations, and that legal frameworks allow for legal action against those who write them.
