Abstract
Patient safety is a key component of healthcare quality; however, weaknesses persist in primary care regarding safety culture, risk management, and incident reporting. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of an educational intervention on risk management and patient safety in an Amazonian primary care clinic. A mixed-methods study with a quasi-experimental pretest–posttest design without a control group was conducted. Seven healthcare workers participated through census sampling. A validated Likert-type questionnaire (α = 0.82), interviews, and observation were used. The intervention was based on active methodologies. Results showed improvements in risk knowledge (14.3%) and safety culture and training (28.6%). Qualitative findings indicated reduced fear of reporting and improved communication. Methodological limitations suggest caution in the transferability of the findings.
