Abstract
The aim of this study was to analyze basketball teaching methodologies used in the context of physical education through a bibliographic review of scientific literature. The research followed a qualitative documentary approach with a descriptive-analytical scope. Data collection was conducted through academic databases such as Scopus, Web of Science, Scielo, and Google Scholar, using methodological criteria inspired by the PRISMA guidelines for identifying, selecting, and analyzing relevant studies. In the initial stage, 98 potentially relevant documents were identified. After applying inclusion and exclusion criteria, a final sample of 32 scientific articles related to basketball teaching methodologies was selected. The results show that game-based methodologies, such as the Teaching Games for Understanding model, the Sport Education model, and small-sided games, are the most widely used pedagogical approaches in contemporary basketball teaching. These strategies promote the development of technical, tactical, and cognitive skills while increasing students’ participation and motivation in learning activities. The discussion highlights the importance of integrating active methodologies in physical education teaching processes. It is concluded that student-centered and game-based approaches contribute significantly to meaningful basketball learning and to the comprehensive development of students within physical education contexts.
