Keywords: Burnout; conciliation; face-to-face; burnout; family; services.

Abstract

To return to face-to-face work after a considerable time carrying out activities remotely, could certainly cause challenges in balance and mental energy of workers, especially for those who perform in service areas. Due to for them, change not only could involve a return to activities in an environment different from home, a place where they already had adapted but also difficulties accepting changes in tasks, income received, ways of relating to others, and above all to conciliate work and family life. It is also necessary to consider that some people had already adapted to a familiar space for working and now it could be difficult to change it. The principal aim of this study is to specify the relationship between burnout and work and family balance in employees that perform in service companies. The applied methodology in this order was quantitative correlational, explanatory, and transversal, here 355 participants were surveyed, the survey featured three dimensions related to burnout and four dimensions related to work-family balance with Cronbach´s Alpha of 0,960 and 0,815 respectively, for the analysis Leiter and Maslach’ model, some central measure statistical and Spearman´s Rho correlations were applied which entitled us to accept our set hypothesis because of the confirmation of a relationship between these two variables, this finally enabled us to conclude that returning to face-to-face work after Covid-19 lockdown did influence on burnout levels and work-family balance in this investigation participants.
