Resumo
O objetivo do estudo foi analisar a relação entre o compromisso esportivo e o desempenho percebido em adolescentes atletas do sexo feminino do cantão de Santa Cruz (Galápagos), considerando variáveis sociodemográficas e esportivas selecionadas. Desenvolveu-se uma pesquisa de abordagem quantitativa, delineamento não experimental, corte transversal e escopo correlacional-explicativo. Participaram 180 atletas do sexo feminino com idades entre 14 e 17 anos. Utilizaram-se a Escala de Grau de Compromisso com o Esporte (11 itens; fatores compromisso atual e compromisso futuro), o Questionário de Desempenho Percebido no Esporte (5 itens) e uma ficha sociodemográfica. As análises incluíram estatísticas descritivas, consistência interna e correlações de Pearson e Spearman. Os resultados mostraram níveis elevados de compromisso atual (M = 4,11, DP = 0,56), compromisso futuro (M = 4,24, DP = 0,51) e desempenho percebido (M = 3,99, DP = 0,61). Ambas as dimensões do compromisso associaram-se positiva e significativamente aos cinco indicadores de desempenho percebido; tais associações foram mais altas para o compromisso futuro (r = 0,44 a 0,53, p < 0,01) do que para o compromisso atual (r = 0,29 a 0,37, p < 0,01). Da mesma forma, os anos de prática, as horas de treinamento e o nível competitivo mostraram correlações positivas com as variáveis principais. Conclui-se que o compromisso esportivo, especialmente seu componente futuro, constitui um correlato psicológico relevante do desempenho percebido em adolescentes atletas do sexo feminino, o que fornece evidências úteis para o desenho de estratégias de permanência, apoio psicossocial e treinamento contextualizado em Santa Cruz.
